The Great Grove Amazing Race, a fun, interactive and engaging evening converted the current hit TV show "The Amazing Race"® on NBC to a Sailor and Merchant live event. Sailors from the Orange Bowl Regatta started the race at the Sail the Grove kiosk in Cocowalk, and given their first clue towards finding eight different spots in the Grove hidden inside the stores. Included at each store was a trivia question for bonus points and along the way three "pits stops" challenged the participants to a unique test of brain, sailing skills and goofiness! At the finish line pictures from the Great Grove Amazing Race and their regatta racing on Biscayne Bay were shown courtesy of Tim Wilks® photography and the Orange Bowl Regatta® , Awards based on fastest time AND most accurate trivia answers were given out to the top ten winners and prizes. "This was so much fun," said Seth Rosenthal,13 year old Orange Bowl Regatta Racer (pictured above). "We had to pass the knot tying stop, boat parts pit stop and then a crazy chicken dance but I did them all really fast". "This was the best Monday night we had in a year," said Sylvano BIgnon, owner of Greenstreet Café. "Creating On-land events for Sailors coming off our beautiful Bay was a great idea and their tan smiling faces was a welcome sight in Coconut Grove." Sail the Grove is Presented by:
